888Poker Software Update "Poker 8" Gets Blistering Reviews

The software update rolled out by 888Poker recently has been met with plenty of harsh criticism from players, many of whom don't seem to care much for the upgrade dubbed "Poker 8".
One of the biggest gripes - and certainly a problem that could have been avoided - is that the notes that players had made on their opponents over the years were completely wiped out, forcing players to start from scratch in keeping tabs on the playing tendencies of tablemates.
"You cannot have people who have been playing for years lose their notes and shrug your shoulders," stated 2+2 forumite ‘leviathan74’, adding, "it’s disrespectful to your customers."
That perceived disrespect seemingly goes hand-in-hand with plummeting poker room revenue figures released by parent company 888Holdings. Just a few weeks ago, it was widely reported that 888Poker suffered through its worst year ever in 2018, with year-over-year online poker revenue plunging to $49 million from $77.9 million.
Previously positioned among the top three poker sites with partypoker and PokerStars - at least in the eyes of many - 888Poker appears to be fading fast. Of those three, only partypoker is on the rise, as PokerStars has also seen its reputation take a hit following slashed player rewards and bungled player retention strategies.
The deleted note-taking issue isn't the only software revamp problem that has frustrated 888 Poker customers. There were a slew of installation complaints, and even more with regard to the loss of custom seat positioning.
Perhaps 888Poker should take the advice of one forum member who stated:
"Hope they review all that negative feedback and rethink some changes!"
