The Southeast Asian nation of Vietnam is set to host another major poker festival as it was announced that the inaugural Vietnam Poker Cup (VPC) will take place. News of the event was jointly announced by World Players Entertainment and the Ho Tram Resort Casino on Thursday.

The event will see the first VPC take place between August 21 and 23, which gives potential players more than enough time to register and make relevant travel arrangements without having to wait too long.

World Players Entertainment CEO Andrew Scott said that he believed Vietnam was poised to begin hosting major professional poker events.

This is the beginning of something that will last for many years to come. The Vietnam Poker Cup is a historic event with the winner’s name to forever be etched in glory.

The VPC is set to take place at the Ho Tram Resort Casino in the southern Vietnamese resort of Ho Tram. Although the VPC is set to take place over just three days, there will be a number of events available to players to participate in.

Such tournaments include a US$550 Main Event as well as a US$1,100 High Roller event, not to mention tournaments that are set to have buy-in ranging from US$55 to US$275.

The announcement of the VPC further asserts Vietnam as a growing location for major poker events in Asia, which has seen an overall boost in poker popularity in recent years. The first ever Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam event took place in May, also at the Ho Tram Resort Casino.

That festival’s Main Event attracted 822 players, a solid number given that it was the APT Vietnam’s inaugural Main Event. Such high numbers could very well be repeated at the VPC Main Event, especially given that a growing number of poker players are already familiar with the Ho Tram Resort Casino.
