Life was looking rosy for Dan Cates at the beginning of August when he took to social media to inform his fans and followers of his whereabouts. The Jungleman tweeted that he was on his way to one of his fave destinations worldwide – the Philippines.
It may no longer be one of his preferred casinos after Cates took a beating at the high stakes cash game. With rumors flying that the cash action in Manila was the largest ever seen in those parts, the Jungleman admitted to dropping $5 million.
An unfathomable amount to lose for the vast majority of us. But apparently, just another day in the life for Cates.
His plan is to play for lower stakes online where he has been one of the most successful players ever. After building that bankroll up again, we may see Cates make another sojourn to the “Pearl of the Orient Seas.”
