The incredibly exciting Short Deck poker is coming to America’s Cardroom next week with the introduction of their new 6 Plus Poker variant, the site hoping that the firm favourite of big names such as Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey will prove just as popular among their own fans when it launches on Monday September 10th…

Playing the game with the 2, 3, 4 and 5 cards all removed hit the headlines earlier this year when Paul Phua’s Triton High Roller Series introduced it, and it instantly proved to be a big hit – Phil Ivey downing Daniel Cates heads-up in Montenegro to land a $604k payday at the 36-card variant, and ACR are adding 6-max and full ring 9 player versions to their heads-up offering…

The smaller deck also sees modified hand rankings used, where a flush now beats a full house, adding to the excitement and strategy involved in the game which is popular in the Far East and now spreading like wildfire across the globe… Tom Dwan seen here explaining the rules of the red-hot Short Deck variant

…and Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates going a bit deeper into the strategy behind the 36-card game…

…with others already champing at the bit to give the ACR 6 Plus Poker version a go themselves…

It’s a busy September for the ACR team, and for their players it could well be a lucrative one as well, with news of two $1million guaranteed tournaments on their way – joining the weekly $1million guaranteed new schedule which has already been rolled out…

Sunday 9th September see the inaugural $1Million Dollar Encore event, the buy-in $2500 + 150 for those who don’t worry about money, but satellites running every night –starting at 7:45pm ET – with a respectable $300+20 buy-in for those of us who prefer to win our way into the $million biggies.

The following Sunday sees exactly the same procedure, a 1pm ET kick-off for the second Encore, with ACR saying the big-money tournaments will become a regular on the schedule if players vote with their mouse-clicks!

The new schedule itself has more tourneys and bigger prizepools than ever – so whatever your bankroll and whatever your game, ACR are looking forward to seeing you at the tables, whether you’re a 36-card 6 Plus Poker fan or the more traditional 52-card type.
