Americas Cardroom Hosts the Cage Live in Costa Rica this Weekend

This weekend marks the third of six Cage Live events to be held at the Taormina Hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica in 2019.

Hosted by Americas Cardroom, the action will take place from May 31 to June 3. The Cage Live is a cash game that's played under a time limit in the format of a tournament. Players begin with 5,000 chip stacks after buying in for $5,000 + $250. No late registration or re-entries permitted.

It's a 2-day event consisting of 6 hours of play each day broken down into two daily 3-hour blind levels with a half-hour break in-between. Upon the conclusion of the Cage Live, players cash in whatever chips remain in their possession, the funds credited to their ACR account.

While there's plenty of exciting poker action to be had in the Cage Live, it's also a weekend filled with some wild partying. A trip to Costa Rica wouldn't be complete without enjoying some fun in the sun and getting a taste of the nightlife.

It may be too late to enter the Cage Live this time around but Americas Cardroom puts on the event every other month. The next one is scheduled for August 9-12, followed by October 4-7, and then December 6-9. The last two Cage Live events in 2019 will be played as Pot Limit Omaha.

Players are certainly welcome to buy-in with cash, but a more popular route of entry has been the $55 Beast and Sit & Crush Cage Live satellite held every Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET. Two guaranteed prize packages each valued at $8,340 are claimed every week.

The package includes the $5,250 Cage Live buy-in, $800 for airfare, $340 to play cash games, $1,000 in spending money, and three nights of lodging at the splendid Taormina Casino and Hotel.
