Anyone hitting a Royal Flush in Vegas this summer at the WSOP had better do it at the Main Event final table if they want to match this week’s $3.6million winner in Perth, Australia.

Even converted from Aussie $ to US money that’s a cool $2.5million, and all from a $15 stake on the progressive jackpot that accompanies the poker-based table games on offer at the Crown Perth Casino.

Saturday night’s scoop saw the unnamed punter lay a AU$15 (about US$10.40) sidebet, the largest available on his table, and when his Royal Flush in hearts appeared the entire progressive jackpot was his alone.

Although the winner preferred to remain anonymous, the casino’s COO, Lonnie Bossi, was more than willing to share the big news.

“To have a record breaking $3.6 million won at Crown Perth is quite extraordinary,” Mr Bossi stated, adding: “This is Australia’s biggest ever jackpot won on the tables and I am so excited to see that go off here.”

The monster scoop has dwarfed the previous Texas Hold’em Poker Progressive record at the Western Australian casino, an AU$2.7million win back in September of 2016.
