Scheduled for June 29th, with the buy-in of $1,000,000, Big One for One Drop is the most expensive poker tournament on the planet. It first made its appearance during the WSOP of 2012, and while it didn’t take place last year, this year it is back and, despite the baller buyin, seats are filling up quickly.

As the cap for the tournament is set at 56 players, with these latest entries only 15 seats are still available for grabbing, on first-come first-serve basis, as anyone who can show that they have a million to put up and are 21 years of age or older are eligible to compete for the first prize that could potentially exceed $20,000,000 if all 56 seats are filled, and a custom-made platinum WSOP bracelet.

With this intro out of the way, who are these latest players literally putting their money where their mouth is and putting an entire million dollars on the line?

One of them is Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates who is well known to the poker community as the high-stakes online cash player and a participant of still officially ongoing ‘Durr Challenge’. The 25-year old poker wiz has been testing his live skills lately, and this will be his first time to play One Drop.

Daniel Colman, with $2,7 million in live earnings including the most recent score in the EPT Monaco high-roller worth $2.1 million will gamble it up in hopes of a big payday. Isaac ‘Ike’ Haxton is the name that requires no introduction. With more than $8 million in tournament cashes, Ike certainly belongs to the group of players that should compete on the highest level.

We weren’t certain if Daniel ‘KidPoker’ Negreanu would make his appearance for this one, as he was taking his time deciding, but his million is now joined with all the others. With nearly $21.5 million in tournament winnings and six bracelets to his name, Negreanu easily belongs to the group of players that should be competing for their piece of the huge prize pool.

Greg Merson, 2012 Main Event winner, will be paying his $1 million entry fee for the first time this year. Merson had a great 2012, capturing two WSOP bracelets, but this year he will try his luck going for the most expensive one!

One name we’ve decided to single out is that of Doug Polk, known online as ‘WCGRider’. This 25-years Las Vegas pro has been playing a lot of events during the series, chasing his bracelet bet against Ivey, where, in his own words, he god laid 5:1 odds. After taking down $1,000 Turbo event this year, Polk locked his first bracelet and won his bet, but that served, if anything, as an additional reason to get into the mix and play in his first Big One for One Drop tournament. WCGRider is very active on 2+2 forums and he will certainly have a big support coming his way from the online community.

Other latest entries include Scott Seiver, Talal Shekerchi, Tom Hall, one anonymous businessman and John Morgan. Morgan, who is the CEO of Winmark Corporation, has become rather famous after he got his opponent to fold quads to him, fearing the straight flush.

With 15 seats up for grabs, some of them reserved for satellite qualifiers, the natural question is – who will take them? We haven’t heard anything from Dan Bilzerian yet, although everyone was expecting to see him in the mix. Will Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan show up to play? Gus Hansen has not played in any events yet; will he be taking one of the remaining seats in the Big One? And remember – anyone can play, as long as you can pay!
