If $1million isn’t enough to tempt you to the Caribbean, then how about $2million? The Party Poker Million has just doubled its guaranteed prize-fund for its November extravaganza, but to win your share of it you’ll have to box clever – because former super-middleweight champion Carl Froch has already booked his seat!

“I’m looking forward to a week of poker in paradise and my first live tournament action outside of my home town!” said the hard-hitting Englishman who is now an ambassador for Party Poker.

The boxing legend who retired from the fight game in 2014 has turned to poker for his thrills, and he added:

Playing the Party Poker Million at WPT Caribbean is the ultimate test and I’ve been putting in the hours, preparing myself for the differences between live and online tournaments to ensure I will be at the very top of my game”.

Adding in the $1million 1st prize at the WPT Caribbean event, there is now a staggering $3million up for grabs when the cards are shuffled up and dealt in the lavish resort area of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Fellow Party Poker ambassador and Poker Hall of Famer Mike Sexton – a famous face in the poker world for his WPT commentaries – will also be soaking up the sun in-between hands.

He stated this week:

After launching the first Party Poker Million in 2002, it will be fantastic to see how the event has grown and with qualification starting at $0.01 and ten $8,000 packages per week up for grabs on Party Poker from September it offers more value than ever. I look forward to a week of unforgettable action in paradise on and off the felt!”

One famous name who is definitely in with a shot of winning the big prize is professional poker player Sam Trickett, who said:

“The Caribbean Poker Party is going to be a fantastic event, I’m looking forward to going with a big group of friends and it’s brilliant to hear that the Party Poker Million guarantee has been doubled to $2,000,000.”;

With live tournament earnings of over $20million – including a massive $10million score at the 2012Big One for One Drop event – Trickett isn’t exactly in dire need of the prizes on offer in November, but he will doubtless be joined by other superstars of the game, but he’ll also have to fend off the lucky amateurs who make it through the online satellites.

Tony Dunst, another of Party Poker’s sun-seeking ambassadors, said:

The Caribbean Poker Party is a sensational adventure which I’m very excited to be a part of. I will be looking to go all the way in the Party Poker Million and WPT tournament to retain my WPT Caribbean crown, whilst enjoying the tropical fun lined up off the felt.”

He added:

Win one of the ten $8,000 packages up for grabs weekly from September 5th and get yourself on a plane on November 19th to take me on in Punta Cana!”
