Daniel Negreanu has been called a ‘cowardly piece of shit’ by actor and poker player James Woods after the Canadian legend tweeted ‘Add James Woods to the list of men accused of chasing 16 year old girls’ following reports that actress Elizabeth Perkins had ‘accused’ the movie star during the recent #MeToo march in Hollywood to support victims of sexual assault and harassment.

Negreanu – poles apart politically from the right-wing actor – picked up on Perkins’ ‘silent sign naming and shaming’ of Woods, posting on Twitter…

..and it wasn’t long before the short-tempered and foul-mouthed Woods took exception to the Canadian’s finger-pointing, replying publicly…

Woods is trigger-happy when it comes to taking legal action when he doesn’t like what people are saying about him, and his dig at Negreanu might not be an empty threat, although he later responded to words of support from one of his million followers on Twitter…

Negreanu defended his tweet by claiming it appeared in several news sources, with many stating that Perkins’ sign regarding Woods at the march was in reference to a claim back in September by Amber Tamblyn that the actor had tried to pick her and a friend up, even though they were only 16 years old at the time…

The Canadian’s tweet even had Doug Polk asking about its legitimacy, Negreanu responding quickly…

…but Woods’ tweet referencing Negreanu’s own relationship with Evelyn Ng had opened a can of worms which saw many of the actor’s Trump-inclined followers weighing in...

Negreanu and Ng dated back in the late noughties, the Canadian even penning a blog post entitled ‘Evelyn Ng Ruined my Life’ – a tale which turned out to be a joke about her buying him ‘Rock Band2’ for Xbox, Ng actually a guest at Negreanu’s later wedding in 2005 to Lori Weber, although they have since divorced.

It’s not the first time the poker-playing pair have crossed swords on the Twittersphere, with the National Anthem kneeling debate during NFL games seeing another online slagging match as reported here in September – with Doyle Brunson and Mike Matusow also not shy about wearing their political hats in public.

Woods was in the news again this summer when he sued an anonymous Twitter user for $10million, the Hollywood reporter writing: ‘…the actor went to the Los Angeles Superior Court and sued the anonymous individual who is tweeting as "Abe List" for defamation over a derogatory tweet that suggested Woods was a "cocaine addict" — a message that Woods complains was sent to "thousands of AL's followers and hundreds of thousands of Mr. Woods' followers."

Woods’ lawyers described the tweets as ‘reckless and malicious behavior’ claiming that ‘they jeopardized Woods' good name and reputation on an international scale,' with the actor later stating ‘that he hoped the defendant died "screaming my name," adding, "Learn this. Libel me, I'll sue you. If you die, I'll follow you to the bowels of Hell. Get it?" continuing his action even though the defendant died.

He recently dropped the libel action after receiving a settlement and letter of apology, but found himself being sued by another Twitter user for $3million after he called her ‘a Nazi’.
