While he certainly is quite adept at navigating tournament fields and crushing online foes, Dan “Jungleman” Cates apparently does not possess the same skills when it comes to booking flights.

A recent desire to fly to San José del Cabo in Mexico went awry, with the Jungleman landing instead in San Jose, California. The mixup was somewhat understandable considering the similarity in city names.

On the other hand, some wondered how important details could be overlooked to result in such a mistake. Chalk it up to a jet-setting lifestyle in which the top pros such as Cates are coming and going so often that plane trips and international jaunts are part of everyday life.

Jungleman, who was intending to play Internet poker in Mexico and continue building up that online bankroll that has surpassed $7 million, apparently took the snafu in stride. Various media reports indicate that Cates found his way to Mexico eventually, with a funny story to tell and a boost to his frequent flyer mileage.
