Daniel Negreanu's Hollywood Trip

Hearthstone on the laptop, 15-year old jogging pants and a copy of Economics for Dummies – not your standard packing items for a trip to Hollywood but then Daniel Negreanu isn’t really an ordinary person - the multi-millionaire poker legend doing pretty much what he pleases, when he pleases.

Heading off for a week of awards and poker was the subject of his latest vlog, and one look in Dneg’s wardrobe is enough to tell us that the ‘baller’ lifestyle is not Daniel’s way – a pinstripe seersucker suit his choice for his hoped-for media award, the subject of some discussion last week in rival Doug Polk’s own vlog.

His slick video actually offers an interesting insight into his lifestyle – private air travel, healthy vegan eating and two laptops only used for poker and Hearthstone respectively – and not for the ‘nudgenudge, winkwink’ websites Negreanu alludes to Gus Hansen visiting on his computer!

Bumping into Phil Hellmuth not long after his workout, Negreanu can’t resist having a dig at his old foe and friend about the ‘joke’ fight between the two which has seen odds offered online. Big Phil shows off his jab which he claims will keep the newly-muscled Negreanu at bay – but a tip from this author, keep your wrist straight when you jab Phil! Ali-Frazier it’s not, despite our vlog host claiming Negreanu-Hellmuth would be even bigger!

The awards ceremony itself was the usual self-congratulatory handshaking, not really worthy of the average poker-player’s time if truth be told, but Negreanu’s celebrations no longer giving him a hangover apparently due to his strict(-ish) new health routines might be worth looking into if your poker needs a new approach.

There is even room in the longer than usual vlog for some poker playing, Negreanu breaking down an interesting and slightly unusual hand - his hand analyses worth the entrance fee alone – which is of course free!

Anyway, an interesting vlog from an interesting guy – not your everyday poker grinder’s lifestyle for sure!
