On October 2, the poker community is coming together to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Doyle Brunson, a true poker legend.

Five poker rooms across the United States and the World Poker Tour (WPT) are hosting a "Doyle Brunson Day" to remember Texas Dolly who passed away aged 89 in May.

Ten-Deuce

At a dedicated memorial ceremony at the 2023 World Series of Poker, the poker community officially declared October 2nd as Doyle Brunson Day. 10/2—as the shorthand date is written in the United States—matches the ten-deuce that Brunson won both of his WSOP Main Event titles with in 1976 and 1977.

Poker Royalty, the management firm that took care of Doyle Brunson, organised the tribute with five poker rooms.

Three of them are Live! Branded card rooms. Peppermill Reno is another, which handed out $100 prizes for anyone who can make a flush or full house between 10.02 am to 10.02 pm.

The Lodge Card Club in Austin, Texas, is giving away $10,200 to any cash game player who wins with ten-deuce.

The WPT also got in on the act, running a promo at the WPT Prime Madrid festival. All players winning a hand with ten-deuce were entered into a draw to win a seat in the $1,100 WPT Prime Championship.

There was also a $1,000 Cash Giveaway event on 10/2 for ClubWPT VIP and Diamond members.

Fans of Doyle Brunson can head over to the WPT YouTube or Twitch channels to watch a long run of his career highlights from Monday night.
