As per local reports, a guy who had gone missing in Philadelphia and was discovered dead last week may have just hit the lottery moments before his death.

Francis Decero, 25 years old, was reported missing on April 26. On May 4, a group of kids discovered him buried in a mound of shrubs in the south of Philadelphia. As per the Pennsylvania Lottery, a guy called "Francis D'' won $1 million on a scratchcard bought around one mile from the victim's house. It is unclear if Decero's possible lottery win had any role in his demise.

Decero's corpse indicated that he had been shot in the elbow, grazed by another bullet, battered, stabbed, and burnt. Authorities have not established whether or not the winning ticket had a role in his untimely death.

Searching for Decero

As per the police, they were pursued by several children who reported seeing a guy in the woods around 31st and Tasker Streets at about 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Decero was identified as the individual who was unconscious and ultimately declared dead on the spot.

Decero was last seen at 1148 Tree Street at 6 p.m. ET on April 26, as shown in a missing person report issued by the Philadelphia Police Department. He then entered a black car, abandoning his double-parked vehicle nearby, and vanished.

Family members later found the vehicle of Decero in the 2800 block of 13th Street.

Unresolved Homicide

Lou Decero, Decero's father, informed CBS Philadelphia that he would be seeking answers.

"I just hope they find out who did it; that's all I want to know," he stated. Everyone adored the kid. "Dad, want to go out to eat?" he'd ask. "Let's go," he said.
According to initial statements, the murder was not motivated by robbery. No weapons have been discovered, and no arrests have been made.
