The $500,000 PPC Championship Aruba Main Event kicked off yesterday and PokerTube have their man on the ground to bring you the best of the action, with a special focus on the four Intertops qualifiers who battled their way to the 17 kilometres long Dutch oasis off the northern tip of Venezuela – all with an eye on the first prize.

Tim O'Keefe, John Michael Curcuru, Ashley Hine and Joan Sandoval all scooped $4000 packages to the event courtesy of one of the most respected operators in the poker and sportsbook industry, with Intertops well-known for regularly sending their satellite winners around the globe - with Barcelona, Venice, Tallinn and the Caribbean island of St. Maarten all featuring in their Living the Dream adventure blog over the last few years.

O’Keefe may be one of Intertops’ sponsored pros, but he still had to fight his way to the satellite spot just like any other mere mortal, and he’ll be hoping to continue, or even improve on, his success at the previous stop in Velden, Austria – check out his interview with Rikard Aberg to get an insight into his life as a touring pro.

For Aruba 2016, it’s Trooper97 who will be on hand to bring you all the news, interviews and gossip from the 4th season of the Poker Players Championship Main Event, and you can check out his introduction to the paradise island below (co-incidentally sporting the BSA t-shirt I wrote about last week!)

The Trooper97, aka Tim Watts - who decided one day to up sticks from Jacksonville, Florida and ply his quirky trade in Las Vegas – has settled in nicely to the Caribbean sunshine and warm tradewinds which sweep across the island, finding time to chat to all and sundry about the biggest event in the Aruban poker calendar.

Video blogs (vlogs), short vlogs, videos, FB lives, 360 images and much more are the stock in trade of poker’s newest and most out-there journo, so don’t just expect your usual bland ‘here are the results, let’s talk to a poker pro’ TV from Tim! Follow his journey from Vegas to the southern Caribbean here…and expect more of the same when the action kicks off in the Main Event.

Of the Intertops qualifiers, O’Keefe may be the big name expected to do well, but the other three lucky winners - John Michael Curcuru, Ashley Hine and Joan Sandoval – will find their stay in Aruba just as comfortable, having scooped travel, hotels, expenses, their Main Event buy-in and bags of goodies besides.

They’re already winners, having paid less than $100 each for the satellites on Intertops, and with events all year round in amazing destinations you can always try to hit the jackpot yourself!

It’s not just about the Main Event of course – there are side-events and satellites ranging from as little as $100 up to $1100, including a PLO tournament, turbos and the special Midnight Madness event which opened the week-long festival at the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort and Casino on Wednesday.
