Maybe it’s just me, but when I stumble upon a Japanese website called Backdoor Extreme Bar, which promises fun and games beyond your imagination, poker is only the second thing which springs to mind!

Not being able to speak Japanese doesn’t help, of course, but with the help of a little friend I was soon able to discover that it was just the latest in a line of Asian sites and cardrooms who are trying to inject some fun back into the game of poker, with Baccarat, Roulette and various other games on offer.

Naturally, unless you plan to visit Tokyo or are already there you won’t be able to join in – the Extreme Backdoor Bar being a real live venue – but it won’t hurt to take a look at what they have on offer and see if we can’t add some spice and adventure into our own venues.

SitnGo

Now, things often get lost in translation so, but their Facebook post reading:

"Now a popular ticket to 1 table tournaments can get yum yum!! Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, we are waiting for you to join us.”

Yep, they are offering sit and go’s in a casino, which might be normal but nowhere I’ve ever played to be honest. And the question is, why not? Arrange them for the couple of hours before tournaments – when players like myself are bored shitless and the cash games aren’t running yet. 1st, 2nd and a freebie to the upcoming event – I’d certainly play!

Teach me!

And what else? Ok, how about beginners’ lessons? Personally I’d love more people playing and at some point more ‘fish’ in my games (if only to give me a break from holding that title!) and the best way to do that? Invite newbies along!

"Every time a lot of customers will play the poker debut!!
You know, I know, I know, I know. I don't know what you're talking about.
I'm interested, but I don't think I can remember...Oh, my God, it's all right.
A lot of fun and simple rules can be used in the backdoor.
Backdoor one of the best Veteran Dealersare polite to teach me ♪”

You have a poker league?

Ok, in the UK at least, poker leagues are held in pubs and things like bowling clubs, not casinos or proper cardrooms. In Japan? Of course they have leagues because, wait for it, they’re fun and people like them!

"The Rumor League of the season tickets started in backdoor, and the news of the season has been spreading quickly!!”

Yep, me neither, not fully, but I get the gist of it!

Bring back da youth to poker!

Of course, being Japan some of the ideas are, let’s say, a bit ‘out there’…

"Would you like to join the tournament with your high school ball? Maybe that youth will come back.”

Hmmm, I wasn’t even 17 during my school dance, and the USA I’m sure is even stricter about teenagers and gambling, but I love the sentiment! Way to go Backdoor Extreme!

Anyway, food for thought and I’m not talking about Sushi! Have a look and see what fun ideas you can stumble across on their Facebook page and videos, and if you don’t like it just leave quietly… by the Backdoor of course )
