A $529,850 prize pool created by 343 entries who dished out $1,650 to take a seat in a Planet Hollywood event found Jeff 'Boski' Sluzinski nearing a payday with only three eliminations needed to turn a profit.

It was Day 2 and the PokerTube ambassador recalled for his vlog viewers how a few hours earlier he managed to double up with pocket jacks at the 1k/2k blind level by calling an all-in shove from the BB after Boski raised to 4,500 seated UTG+1. The big blind's big slick saw no matching cards hit the board, while Jeff made a set and scooped a 115,000 pot.

Unpalatable Finish

A shot of delicious-looking nachos and ahi tuna sliders at the dinner break likely had a few of Sluzinski's 5,900 subscribers drooling, including your humble vlog reviewer. While the food was undoubtedly yummy, the results of this particular tournament would be nowhere near as tasteful for the MTT grinder.

Thirty-nine players remained - a trio of whom would walk away empty-handed - and Boski sat with 108,000 chips at the 3k/6k blind level. Folds around the table stopped at the cutoff, who raised 2.5x the BB to 15,000.

Seated at the button, Sluzinski peeked at his hole cards, revealing suited big slick. If you're a follower of Boski, you know that he likely has no intention of playing it safe in bubble territory, no thoughts of reining in his aggression until a payday is secured.

Big slick suited while commandeering the best position at the table was too good a hand to pass up for our boy Boski. You don't win five tournaments and final table four more over the course of 52 days - as Sluzinski did from Dec. 10, 2016 thru Jan. 30, 2017 - by nitting it up.

Slowroller

As can be expected, Jeff shoves his 18 big blinds, forcing the cutoff to make a crucial decision so close to the bubble. That decision turned out to be to slowroll Sluzinski, needlessly asking for a chip count while holding pocket kings.

To top it off, the cutoff began the hand with like 350k in chips, covering Boski's stack 3x over. An eventual call was followed by bricks across the board, sending the MTT grinder home in 39th place.

What Viewers Think

A number of vlog commenters said that Boski should perhaps slow it down a bit in such situations when a potential payday is looming.

"He gets around 20 BB's and always thinks it is an auto shove," stated Chris Hilleary. "If it were 10 BB's or less I totally agree with the shove but not 18."

Another poster remarked that A-K is "the most overrated hand in poker," to which Boski replied:

"I will take it every time."
