Jonathan Duhamel has gained a reputation over the last few years as being one of the best young poker players in the world. The 28 year old Canadian became a household name in the poker world when he won the World Series of Poker Main Event back in 2010, which at that time made him the third youngest player to have ever won the event.

He had a few ups and downs in the years following the big win, which included an EPT High Roller win. However, Duhamel was also the victim of a now infamous home invasion in December 2011, where he was beaten, tied up, and robbed of a Rolex, 100k cash, and his WSOP bracelet. The criminals convicted included his ex-girlfriend who was found guilty of orchestrating the job.

That didn’t seem to put a dent in Duhamel, though, as he remained a regular fixture at the WSOP and other major poker events around the world. He has been in the money at every WSOP since his big Main Event win, but 2015 has undoubtedly been the best year of Duhamel’s poker career since 2010.

2015

Duhamel started the year off with a bang after he cashed in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event and also the 8 Handed Event.

He continued his stellar play at this year’s WSOP, where he made it in the money in five events, one of which was the Main Event, where he finished 565th.

The best performance of Duhamel’s in 2015, however, was his victory in the $111,111 High Roller for One Drop. In that event, the Canadian topped a field that featured poker superstars like Phil Hellmuth, Joseph Cheong and Anthony Zinno. Here he won his second WSOP Gold Bracelet and just under US$4 million.

If that wasn’t enough, Duhamel also took out the World Poker Championship Borgata Poker Open Six-Max Event in Atlantic City last week. It was a solid run for Duhamel as he topped a field of 287 to win the event and $70,990.

He also cashed in the Borgata Poker Open Championship, where he came in 34th, not bad considering there were 1,027 total entries.

With three months remaining in 2015, don’t be surprised if Jonathan Duhamel continues his stellar year in poker and wins a couple more big events to round out the year.
