It was a $million payday for one of the online game’s most prolific cashers as Jonathan ‘sordykrd’ Van Fleet scooped the PartyPoker MILLIONS Online on a final day which saw big names such as Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom and Ludovic ‘filthytrousers’ Geilich also run deep in the massive event.

There were 1,047 hopefuls willing to pay the $5300 buy-in, PartyPoker’s $5million guaranteed prizepool with $1million up top attracting some of the game’s very best pros, although the likes of Sam ‘samtrickett’ Trickett and Anatoly ‘NL_Profit’ Filatov hit the rails long before the money stages.

Although the tournament suffered an unusual glitch on day1A, the rest of the event ran smoothly, with the first goal being one of the 104 paid spots and a minimum cash of $10,270, with ‘RogerSterling’ being the unfortunate bubble boy during day 2’s seven-hour stretch, which also saw the last of the partypoker Ambassador’s busting out, Natalia ‘N4talB’ Breviglieri and Joao ‘joaosimaobh’ Simao among them.

With twenty-five returning on day 3 to fight it out for the huge prizes on offer at the top it didn’t take long to separate the (admittedly well-paid) ‘also-rans’ from the big winners, Blom falling in 10th and the imaginatively nick-named James ‘ballcupper’ Lee just missing out on the official final table.

In the meantime, Van Fleet – who could already boast more than $8million in online earnings – was rebuilding his stack and was helped by a sweet double up against Geilich who ran into the Texan’s pocket aces, shortly afterwards taking ‘filthytrousers’ out of play in 7th.

With players hitting the rails at a fast rate, the final $2million in prizemoney would be decided between ‘SandwichBacon’, ‘N0-IPTRI4I2I’ and van Fleet (better known by some as ‘apestyles’) and it was ‘SandwichBacon’ who would bow out in 3rd as Van Fleet found pocket tens at the right moment.

Heads-up saw Van Fleet gradually stretch clear of his opponent and finished things off when his AQ held up against KJ and that was that – the MILLIONS title and $1,027,000 were his, his victory Twitter share a bit of an understatement!

Mind coach Elliot Roe brought out the true feelings of Van Fleet though…
