Cheating allegations have raised their ugly head again in the world of poker, this time surrounding the OFC Pineapple game – with Jason Mercier and his wife Natasha claiming that Fernando Rosas and Dr Jaclynn Moskow have been less than honest in their play on the OFC app used to play online.

The accusations came about after Fernando Rosas himself started a thread on the 2+2 forum, claiming that Jason Mercier had been warning fellow OFC players to avoid playing the Mexican.

In a post entitled ‘Jason Mercier spreads unfounded cheating accusations’, Rosas (known as ‘relaxursoul’ on the iphone/ipad app where most of the high-stakes OFC Pineapple games take place) claims that after beating Mercier’s wife Natasha heavily online, but losing to her in a live OFC game afterwards, Jason Mercier basically ‘killed his action’ with the cheating accusations.

Rosas states that:

"…one OFC player has confirmed to me that Jason told him directly that I was using a bot. Another player who I’m playing has complained to me about the rumors and finds the situation a tough spot now that I am up a significant number of points.”

The rumors have also affected his friend Dr Jaclynn Moskow, claims Rosas, stating:

"Jaclynn and I are both high volume OFC players and we have spent a considerable amount of time discussing and studying the game. Once it was known that we were friends, the bot rumor affected her directly. As she has been looking for action, multiple players have agreed to play her and then subsequently rescinded. Furthermore, these rumors have evolved to the point where public accusations of her cheating have been made.”

Jacklynn Moskow hit the poker headlines last year when she accused Nolan Dalla of ’motorboating’ her after a PNiA filming session, in a distasteful story which quickly went viral, resulting in Dalla resigning his post.

Both Jason and Natasha Mercier were quick to respond to Rosas claims, Jason posting a reply saying:

"This will likely be my one and only post about this subject. I don't have the time nor the energy to deal with this nonsense. I'm so tired of people calling themselves out and involving me!”

He stated, however, that “I don't think you have a bot, I personally think you are just cheating somehow. A bot would actually lose to a lot of ppl,” before describing how unusual Rosas’ behavior and winning streaks online are.

Mercier’s post was a hard-hitting rebuttal to Rosas’ claims of innocence – his detailed breakdown of what he admits is circumstantial evidence:

Starting with “Why I think u are somehow cheating...” Mercier lists “ no-one beats you on the app… U can’t win live… Natasha has told me massive mistakes you have made live… you are begging everyone for app action…” among many others.

Mercier ends his post by stating:

"I haven't been actively telling people that I think you are cheating somehow, I just answer my honest opinion when I'm asked. Which has been by about 20-30 different people in the last year, bc you try to play everyone." Mercier added: “I'll stick with my same old story, I think he's cheating somehow and I have no proof. Don't play him. Don't play Jacklyn. They are REALLY good at the app!”

Rosas original post appeared just a few hours after Shaun Deeb tweeted on Jaclyn Moskow’s Twitter:

…and it wasn’t long before Moskow had her say on the 2+2 forum, stating:

"In addition to more than a dozen regular opponents quitting me, much like Fernando, about a half dozen agreed to play me and then backed out (presumably after talking to Jason or Natasha, as 100% of them have known ties to them.) I can't overstate how much these rumors have hurt my action and reputation. Do I think this entire thing is unfair? Of course. But life isn't fair.”

Moskow claims she has improved her game:

"As I put in more hands, discussed strategy with others (Fernando included), and found other public resources designed to improve one's game.”

Her ‘take away point’ from the posting has made it clear she is willing to put her OFC Pineapple app skills to the test in a live setting, saying:

"I will be playing someone I beat on the app live. I am confident in my game and thus I am not going to lose sleep over this. Additionally, if Jason accepts Fernando's live challenge, I am willing to take side action as I am confident Fernando is a huge favorite to win.”

It seems that this story is set to run and run!
