Ever since Black Friday, poker players in the U.S. have been unable to legally play online poker at the largest sites, causing many to look for alternatives. While some remained loyal to the several poker rooms that still offer real-money play to Americans, issues with deposits and cashouts have made it risky to play there.

Several states have now legalized online poker on a state level, but the player pools remain small and transferring money in and out is not nearly as easy as it used to be back in the day. All this has led certain individuals to seize the opportunity and introduce BITCOIN (BTC) online poker sites.

BITCOINS are a digital currency that have no true legal status in the US, and since players are not playing for U.S. dollars, such sites cannot be prohibited from operating. Most significantly, BTC sites can operate not just on an interstate level, but globally, allowing players from the U.S. to once again play against the rest of the world.

A new BITCOIN site, Get Lucky Poker, has recently been put into beta testing mode and players can now access the site and play in BTC freerolls and test out the software. The site is set for a hard launch later this month and other than the usual No Limit Hold’em, the site will offer a variety of games including Deuce to Seven Triple Draw, Badugi and Baduci.

Separating this site from other BTC gambling operators are the faces who will represent it. Mike Matusowand the two Mizrachi brothers, Michael and Robert, will be front and center, giving it that extra something that all the larger poker sites have. Matusow became widely known to the poker public as one of the faces of Full Tilt Poker back in the day, and while the site failed in keeping player funds safe, Matusow shouldered none of the blame.

Both the Mizrachi brothers and Matusow are well-known for their poker success, with all three players holding WSOP bracelets and various WPT and other major tournament wins. In what way the players will represent the new site remains to be seen, although it seems that Michael Mizrachi is in fact the one pulling the strings at Get Lucky Poker.

The Bitcoin-only site is still in beta phase and needs to iron out a number of bugs, but all the standard deals and promotions including deposit bonuses, bad beat jackpots and a VIP Club are available. We are looking forward to seeing the site fully launch and will keep you posted when it does.
