It is probably the sickest run in a single day by an online MTT player this year. Pablo Gordillo won $101,060.37 in total for one night on the grind. While many of his fellow players were battling in the WCOOP Main Event, he turned his attention to other big scheduled tournaments, ending up with the sickest run in a long time.

His score-sheet at the end of the evening looked like this: first in the $109 Sunday Kickoff for a prize of $26,013, defeating a field of 1,737 players; victory in the Bigger $55 (5,636 players) pocketing $44,084 and finally, perhaps the most impressive one - defeating the biggest field of the Sunday night in the Big $11, where 35,594 players entered to compete for the first prize of $30,963. Last week was just like dream for Pablo who also took down the first place in another PokerStars online tournament couple days earlier conquering The Bigger $22 for $10,438.

If you plot the distribution of the “luck” of each player (that is, the EVs of the hands they are actually dealt), you’ll get another normal curve. When you plot it, you will discover that some players are below the mean, some above it –and a few are far below or far above it. Some folks are going to be flat out “luckier” than the norm and others “unluckier” Arthur Reber, Poker Listings;

Pablo is a twenty years old finance student from Leon, Spain. He planned to move to London with his three friends, so that they can play on PokerStars.com. He was very close to becoming the first ever Spanish EPT winner, a title that’s been long eluding Spain, but he finished in 4th place of the Main Event of EPT10 in Vienna and took home € 262,150 which was his first big win. Similar situation happened in April of 2012, when we had an example of another sick Sunday run by Scott Hall, American poker player from Arizona, better known as 'stpauli111' who played 32 MTTs on PokerStars and he won four of them: The $215 Sunday Supersonic for $42,000, The Bigger $162 for $41,000, a $55 Rebuy for $24,000 and $200 Rebuy for $23,000.

We’ve all heard that MTT poker has a very high variance compared to Sit and Go tournaments or ring games. Some days we get our chips in way behind, hit our gutshot straight draws and go on to win a tournament. On other days we play perfect game, always getting our chips in good and then lose to a brutal series of suckouts. A good player can have stretches of thousands of MTTs below their expectation and an unskilled player can get lucky and have way better results over a similar period.

If you don’t see results after a few months, just focus on playing your best game, think about each hand you play and stay focused. The results will come your way.

Just remember : In the long–term, skill is the KING!
