Details have been solidified for Powerfest VII, Party Poker's most celebrated tournament series, with the action kicking off on January 21 and running through February 4, featuring 147 events and more than $15 million in guaranteed prize money.

It's the 7th edition of Powerfest and comes with an added boost of $300,000 in prizes by way of three separate promotions designed to increase player bankrolls over and above the guaranteed tournament prize money. Party Poker announced the $300K giveaway with the following tweet over the weekend:

Double Points

The first of the three giveaways, Double Points, will award players with twice as many cashback points on four specific days of Powerfest. Any points earned playing Powerfest tourneys on the following days qualifies for the bonus.

  • Friday, January 26
  • Saturday, January 27
  • Friday, February 2
  • Saturday, February 3

Satellites Leaderboards

This giveaway actually begins on Monday, January 8 and offers more than $34,000 in leaderboard prize money via two leaderboard races that end on Feb. 4, the same day as the conclusion of Powerfest VII. Leaderboard points will be awarded for both the Powerfest Medium Main Event and the High Main Event satellites.

Points are determined according to the number of players entered, the buy-in, and the position finished by each player. Tournaments that are connected to the leaderboard races will be easy to spot, simply look for [M] for Medium and [H] for High in the tournament lobby.

The top five leaderboard finishers from each category will land in the money, with $34,725 set to be distributed to those 10 players. Keep in mind that only Main Event satellites will qualify for leaderboard points.

Golden Chip

Every Powerfest tournament comes with a low, medium, and high buy-in version, with entry fees ranging from $2.20 to $5,200. A Golden Chip will be awarded to the first 100 players who qualify via satellites for each of the three Main Events.

Should the bearer of a Golden Chip continue on and win any of the three Main Events scheduled for Feb. 4, the following cash prizes will be added to the tournament prize money.

  • Low Main Event - $5,000
  • Medium Main Event - $10,000
  • High Main Event - $15,000

The satellite leaderboards and the race to be among the first 300 golden chip winners are already underway.
