Reacting to feedback from loyal players, Party Poker made improvements to the overall poker-playing experience by changing the look and feel of both the lobby and the poker tables.

Players logging on to Party Poker will notice a new darker colour scheme designed to be easier on the eyes that will likely be most beneficial to grinders who play long sessions and put in tons of hours on the virtual felt. Along with the darker lobby and table theme, additional enhancements include the following:

  • Improved game navigation
  • Collapsible filters that allow more space to view game choices
  • Updated Sit & Go HERO lobby to differentiate between 3 and 4-handed games
  • Removal of the one click lobby as almost all players prefer the traditional view
“We acknowledge that our poker product needed some love," said Party Poker Managing Director Tom Waters. "We have been working on this project for a number of months. I hope that the new Party Poker player experience is to everyone’s liking.”

Players Comment on Upgrades

As with any changes of this nature, there will be bugs that need to be worked out.  Also, you can't please everyone, and that was confirmed by comments from posters at online poker forums.

"Just downloaded new update and it seems to be super glitched," stated 'r3x' at 2+2.
"I am glad you are definitely implementing changes, because improvement is needed," posted 'zvonjimir.' "But the outcome, well, everything is so black. Lot of research point out that black colour causes unrest and increased aggression. Is it possible you couldn't have chosen some brighter and lighter colour out of thousands there are?!"

The darker colour scheme didn't seem to annoy 'angeles,' who chimed in that the "software changes look sleek and quite nice. definitely a big improvement from before. good job guys! keep it up"

More Changes Coming

The enhancements were characterized as "phase 1," with even more improvements scheduled in a phase 2 release sometime during the next quarter. Players can expect the following upgrades in phase 2:

  • Ability to view full screen lobby
  • Further filter, display, game and tournament information improvements
  • Enhanced tournament lobby displays
  • Better table look and feel and more customization options
"I am confident that by the end of 2017 our players will be delighted with the improved look and feel and the usability of the software," Waters added.

Also weighing in on the changes was Party Poker ambassador Patrick Leonard, who was included in the testing of the new software and gave a hearty thumbs up to the tweaks and enhancements. The Party Poker pro called the software upgrades "another step in the direction of getting our dream poker room."
