It’s been an action-packed first half as the partypoker MILLIONS UK returned to the iconic Dusk Till Dawn Casino in Nottingham, a slew of events bringing together pros, amateurs as well as those more used to writing about the game than playing it… and with the Main Event underway it’s only going to get better

$23k Mix Max win for Xanthopoulos

Before we get to the big stuff, a quick recap is in order, starting with the £200 Mix Max which brought together 367 hopefuls including Team partypoker pro Ludovic Geilich and site ambassador, boxer Carl Froch, joining professionals, journalists and staff in the PP LIVE Dollars-only buy-in event.

With a $100k guarantee there was plenty to play for and by the end of it Christos Xanthopoulos had scooped the $23k top prize, others also walking off with big paydays in no small part due to the MILLIONS Online bounties many carried on their heads.

It was ten times the prizepool and almost ten times the amount up top in the $1million guaranteed Millions UK Open up next, 23-year old Brandon Sheils ecstatic after topping the field and walking off with £180,000Sasha Salinger on the spot to get the young man’s thoughts right after his victory…

The £5m GTD Main Event

The money keeps increasing as the 9-day series gets deeper, and with three starting flights of the Main Event in the books there are some familiar faces and big names atop the chip counts, Niall Farrell and Paul Newey among them form day 1a, while defending champ Maria Lampropoulos survived day 1b comfortably after being inducted into the Dusk Till Dawn “Wall of Fame” earlier this week – the Argentinian taking down $1million last year when she outlasted 1203 others and securing her place in the  poker history books.

The third flight had some huge stars in it too, Mustapha Kanit and Dominik Nitsche near the top along with former WSOP champ Ryan Riess, with partypoker duo Roberto ‘the Welsh Wizard’ Romanello and Anatoly Filatov well in the hunt.

With Steve O’Dwyer scooping the $25k High Roller, the other big news is about “Trickett’s Invitational” which sees the cash game high-rollers battling it out with the Team partypoker pro himself, Luke _fullflush1_Schwartz and Dan Shak among the opposition in the £10/£25 game that you can watch here.

So far, so very good it seems in Nottingham, partypoker’s LIVE tour exceeding expectations once again, and the Main Event winner will be the next big story from Dusk Till Dawn, with the series running until October 7th.
