partypoker HQ has been buzzing with news from all around the world and every corner of poker it seems, their latest newsletter a bumper edition with a SHORTDECK announcement, POWERFEST details, partypoker LIVE results and some excellent Team Online showings…

Short Deck Poker hits the partypoker screens

Let’s kick off with the big news that Short Deck poker, often referred to as Six Plus Hold’em, has made its way to the partypoker lobby!

A BETA version of the popular, all-action 36-card version of Hold’em has been released to the global dotcom market, with partypoker ‘the only operator to offer the exact same version adopted by the Triton High Roller series’.

partypoker ambassador Jason Koon is a big fan of the game without the 2, 3, 4 and 5 cards, and if you want to follow in his short deck footsteps you can find out more here.

$30million GTD POWERFEST kicks off this weekend

It might not have Short Deck, but partypoker’s POWERFEST does boast 30million other reasons to get your online freak on, all of them $$$!

The 15-day series starts this Sunday, March 31st, with more than 250 tournaments across a range of games and buy-ins – separated into low, mid, high and super high-rollers to suit every bankroll.

You can win your way into the five ‘Championship’ events, and indeed any of the bigger buy-in events, via special edition SPINS games with $5 or $50 buy-ins, or take the Mega Satellites route.

Nobody ever complained about a Happy Hour in a bar, and there not likely to with partypoker’s version either!

Running all this week until Sunday, March 31st, there are double Cashback points up for grabs during selected Happy Hours – and that’s all across the site's SPINS, fastforward and regular cash game tables.

The promotional ‘windows’ listed below should have a slot to fit even the busiest of life schedules…so double down and double up!

  • Afternoon Action: 15:00 – 16:00 (CET)
  • Midnight Madness: 23:00 – 00:00 (CET) – Sunday 31st 22:00 – 23:00 (CET)

Chasing the SPINSTORM

Sticking with the promotional news, partypoker's SPINSTORM is the one tempest players should be delighted to be in the centre of!

Matt Staples leads the way for Team Online

He was the first name out of the Team Online hat just a few weeks ago, and for Matty Staples the big wins haven’t been long in arriving!

partypoker's $20K GTD Deepstack was just the latest in a string of excellent performances, Matty’s $3,820 score showing his fellow squad members how to lead from the front.

Brother Jaime will soon be joining Matty in the partypoker stable, May 4th his official signing on date to team up with some of the industry's most talented players and TwitchTV streamers.
