When talking about the World Series of Poker, one can simply not fail to mention one of the poker legends, Phil Hellmuth, winner of an unprecedented 13 world championships – 13 WSOP bracelets. Despite of being the absolute record-holder, Poker Brat is always after the next one.

Just hours ago, Hellmuth made the final table of the 6-max WSOP APAC event and when the action continues tomorrow, only five people will stand between him and the history. Only five players standing in the way of winning his number fourteen.

Phil Hellmuth, one of the two great poker Phils, is an American professional player and the member of WSOP’s Poker Hall of Fame. Hellmuth is known by his colorful and competitive personality, and he has chaired and helped organize numerous poker charity events, raising over $20.4 million for the charity. He became the youngest person ever to win the World Series of Poker Main Event after defeating the two time champion Johnny Chan, and his record stood unchallenged for nearly twenty years. One more important record he set in the year 1993, by winning three bracelets, as well as a second place finish all in the same year.

Final table of the AU $2,200 Six – Max NLHE WSOP APAC 2014 Event is Set

This final table of the WSOP Main Event marks 108th WSOP cash and 52nd WSOP final table for Phil.

Impressive? No doubt about it. Every professional player covets at least one WSOP bracelet, while Phil holds thirteen of these in his possession and is making a run for another one.

AU$486,000 prize pool generated

243 players put down $2,200 buy–in to take their seats for the Day 1A which proved fast and furious as nearly 90% of the field was sent to the rail. Notable busts include the likes of Greg Merson, Daniel Negreanu, Brandon Shack – Harris, Jeff Madesn, Jeff Lisandro, Ryan Riess,Antonio Esfandiari and Jackie Glazier.

31 players made it through the Day 1A including quite a few notables. Except for Phil Hellmuth,, Jesse Sylvia, Tony Hachem, member of the November Nine Bruno Politano and Ashley Mason were still in with a fighting chance.

The play continued following the same suite on the Day 2 and the final table of six was reached in no time. Out of those six, top five stacks are separated by less than 50,000 in chips, as the top stack has 315,000 and Hellmuth is fifth on the leader board with a stack of 266,500. So, on this occasion the phrase ‘it’s anybody’s game’ really stands.

Poker fans are in for a real treat tomorrow as they will be able to watch Phil Hellmuth live on WSOP.com website as he tries to break his own record and once again confirm that he’s got the game.

Haters gonna hate, players gonna play!
