14time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth will face his fans and critics tomorrow when he steps-up to face Reddit.com’s popular AMA experience.

The ‘Poker Brat’s Ask-Me-Anything session is sure to court controversy, with interestedpoker players already plottingthe best (and possibly worst) questionsto put to the famously-divisive poker figure.

The online questioning is in celebration of the launch of Poker Central, a new 24/7 TV channel dedicated solely to poker, and which Hellmuth joined up with earlier this year.

The Twitter feed of PokerNews’ Chad Holloway, ChadAHolloway, which publicised Hellmuth’s upcoming online Q&A, has seen followers descend on Reddit to propose queries relating to the Ultimate Bet scandal, Hellmuth’s infamous table antics and a slew of other contentious subjects.

Hellmuth was a major figure in the Ultimate Bet poker site, which saw an alleged ‘ superuser’ account being used to view hole-cards in ‘God-mode’ and take close to $50 million from unsuspecting players.

Hollow_Man posted on Reddit:

“I want to see him answer some real questions about UB, but there’s probably close to a 0% chance he will. Also this AMA has the potential to be hilarious.”

Whether Hellmuth will be drawn on his involvement in one of poker’s biggest scandals remains to be seen.

Hellmuth is also noted for his disdain for other players at the table, famously calling Cristian Dragomir‘an idiot’ several times during the 2008 WSOP Main Event, and is regularly heard bemoaning the ‘stupidity’ of fellow poker players, actions which have earned him the epithet ‘Poker Brat’.

Many Reddit posts have asked whether he is really like this, or if it is all just an act designed to massage his ego and feed his public persona. FiiSz questioned:

“How much of your ‘poker brat’ antics are genuine versus acting for show? I’m actually curious about this one and wondering if he would answer it completely honestly.”

A less-contentious, but no less interesting, post from Miller-STGT considers asking Hellmuth:

“Have you ever played against Stu ‘The Kid’ Ungar in your early days? And, if yes, how was it?”

Ungar, who died in 1998 at the age of 35, is widely considered to have been the best Hold’em player who ever lived.

Although one of the most colourful poker figures to accept the AMA ‘challenge’, Hellmuth is not the first. World-class players such as Vanessa Selbst and Antonio ‘the Magician’ Esfandiari have previously survived the AMA, a hugely-popular mainstay of the Reddit entertainment, social networking and news website.

Aside from poker players, Reddit has attracted the likes of Barack Obama, Bill Gates and Arnold Schwarzenegger to its AMA section.

Hellmuth’s session is scheduled to kick-off at 8pm this Thursday 17th and will remain open until Sunday 20th.
