There will be no shortage of opportunities for avid Poker plays in “The Buckeye State” this summer.

Nearly 30 U.S. states have introduced some form of legalized sports betting ever since the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA) back in May 2018. The ruling paved the way for all U.S. states to legalize sports betting if they so desired.

It is very likely that the state of Ohio will have legalized online and mobile sports betting by Jan. 1, 2023, perhaps even sooner. Once available, residents of Ohio will have access to different sportsbooks, online casino/poker games and much more.

You can bet in Ohio through apps like Caesars, BetMGM, DraftKings and FanDuel, which should be legalized online/mobile sports betting indeed launch in Ohio this year. Through these sportsbooks, Ohio customers would be able to play online casino games such as poker, blackjack, slots, roulette, and much more.

These sportsbooks would also allow customers to place many different types of bets on sports teams, including point spreads, money lines, over/under and futures.

For example, fans of Ohio-based sports teams could place wagers on their teams winning future divisions or championships. At FanDuel, the Ohio State Buckeyes have the third-best odds (+500) of winning next year’s national championship. At DraftKings, the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals have Super Bowl 57 odds of +1800 and +2000, respectively.

While casino and sports betting enthusiasts in The Buckeye State await the potential launch of legalized sports betting, they can look forward to the many poker opportunities that are coming to Ohio this summer.

The same venue will host a pair of no-limit holdem games again the following day. The first game will also be a $100 buy-in with 20,000 chips and 15-minute levels. The stakes increase for the second game, which will feature a $200 buy-in, 25,000 chips, 25-minute levels and a size guarantee of $10,000.
