China, and Asia in general, have been the new focus market of several important leaders in the poker industry and PokerStars is, of course, one of them. This was confirmed once again as the Amaya owned company announced their sponsorship of 2015 Nanjing Millions earlier today.

The tournament, offering a guaranteed prize pool of 1 million Yuan (about $159,000), should help the growth of poker in China. The event is a part of Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) and was approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Chess Sports Association.

Scheduled to take place April 14 – 19 2015, the event will be hosted at the Jiangsu Wutaishan Sports Centre in Nanjing and will enable the great number of emerging poker fans in China to put their knowledge to test at the tables.

APPT president Danny McDonagh expressed his pleasure with the development of poker in China thus far, emphasizing their commitment to support its growth in the future. Building up on the success from the two last year’s events that took place in Beijing and with the support of the government, APPT organizers hope that Nanjing is the best fitting location to attract players from all corners of the country.

Apart from the Main Event, featuring the buy in of 3,000 Yuan, there will be several side events, including a 6-max and a turbo tournament and a 9,000 Yuan three-day event.

The Asia Pacific Poker Tour first kicked off in 2007 and since then, it has grown to be the richest and the most popular tour in the region. Sponsored by PokerStars, it gathers some of the best players from Asia and the rest of the world, bringing them together to compete on the green felt.
