It would appear that Pornhub, one of the world’s biggest porn gateways, has been reading PokerTube articles to get new ideas for their most recent foray into the online world!
Two months after we published the ultimate guide to strip poker the ‘popular porn portal’ has added their own carnal-themed casino version of the sexy read’em and lose’em game, complementing the fully-clothed (although I guess that’s up to the user!) versions of roulette, blackjack, and other popular games to their newly-opened casino portal.
In an e-mail to the HuffingtonPost, Vice President of pornhub, Corey Price, explained the company’s new addition:
Our users know a thing or two about having a good time online, so when a casino company approached us with an opportunity to blend gambling with porn, we had to consider it seriously,” he said by email. “We decided to take a gamble –pun intended — and go ahead with the idea.”
PornHub Casino opened its virtual doors this Monday past, and the content will see a rather peculiar blend of nudity, gaming, and interactivity – with porn actresses expected to turn up as croupiers at the tables from time-to-time.
Well-known porn stars like Monique Alexander or Dani Daniels are expected to fly down and work the roulette wheel or blackjack tables,” according to the Post, while “The croupiers occasionally flash their breasts to players who ask nicely through a chat box. Also, a win on the online slot machine results in a quick scene from an adult movie.”
Price explained the strip poker section, which seems set to be a hit, if only for those who feel like something different in an evening’s entertainment.
It’s available in two options: public tables and friend’s tables,” he explained. “Our public tables are viewable by all players and anyone can join.”
He added:
Our friend’s table section includes those that only people in your friends list can access. We use webcams so everyone can see each other and speak to one another as though you would in a real setting. So yes, people who play will be visible.”
Not everyone is quite so cock-sure about this latest venture into the virtual gambling world, with Braden Perry, ‘an attorney familiar with the regulatory procedures governing online gambling’ stating:
Companies that add new, novel, or distinct services or products can get in the crosshairs of regulators. They will likely face regulatory scrutiny and should have very strong know-your-customer policies.”
However he sees nothing ‘inherently illegal about the Pornhub Casino business model.’
PornHub Casino’s Corey Price is unperturbed by such thoughts, saying:
The timing for this is perfect. At Pornhub we are constantly looking at ways to penetrate additional industries, grow our global community, and expand our brand recognition. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to enter an industry that is experiencing exponential growth and we’re excited to make our mark.”
Describing the plan as “a really smart attempt to prohibit its core audience from leaving the site after they have accomplished their sexual goal,” Alexander Kostin has spotted the true genius of the expansion.
Kostin, who works for BetterCollective.com, ‘ organization that advocates for transparency in the gambling industry’ explains what we all know already:
