PPA Gets Lucky with Support from "luckychewy"

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) added a new ally to its cause in the form of Andrew 'luckychewy' Lichtenberger.
The PPA made the announcement a few days ago via Facebook after the organization's Director of Grassroots met with Lichtenberger. "We look forward to working with such an excellent player and game ambassador to help spread and protect the game we love from a senseless prohibition," said the PPA post.
An Ivey League pro who has amassed $5.8 million in live tournament cashes, Lichtenberger earned almost 1/3 of that total two months ago while winning $1.7 million in the $100,000 Alpha8 at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas.
Lichtenberger confirmed his involvement with the PPA in a series of tweets that read, "Poker has granted me many positive experiences and I look forward to help fundraising for ppapoker at our events with other pros to make a positive change and share the game we love!"
The PPA has been busy opposing the efforts of Sheldon Adelson and his Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling. Online poker regulation has stalled in the U.S. after three states launched igaming regimes in 2013.
While 'luckychewy' is known for his live tournament prowess, his bio at Ivey League informs that he will likely be a tremendous asset to the PPA after first finding success at Internet poker. His winnings playing online hover around the $2 million mark.
Andrew Lichtenberger is also part of a growing trend among successful players who seek to become self-aware and establish wholesome lifestyles. To that end, 'luckychewy' "uses a combination of healthy diet and meditation to try and improve himself both as a person and to become a better poker player," his biography states.
