Pokertube’s Laura and Rikard are working tirelessly to bring you the most exclusive news and interviews from this year’s World Series of Poker from Las Vegas. The team caught up with two of the game’s legends, Scotty Nguyen and Eli Elezra during breaks at the tournaments, and they both agreed to talk about the series, their lives and poker in general.

Beautiful Laura caught Scotty Nguyen for a few minutes, and had a fun chat about Scotty’s series. As the interview was taken, Scotty was involved in the 6max PLO tournament, and told us about the ups and downs in tournaments like that one. As enthusiastic as ever, Scotty doesn’t seem even a little upset at losing a few chips to some cold deck, and it is clear that the 5 time bracelet winner still has what it takes to compete with all the young guns of poker.

I don’t know, I don’t pay attention, I only pay attention when they go down to like 3 players, you know baby, that’s when it counts.

Speaking of the games that are played at the WSOP, Scotty told us that he prefers to play in the mixed games events, as one would expect from a mix game master such as him. Scotty also tells us what his favorite game is and why, but emphasizes that most of the money is still in no limit holdem. The 1998 World Champion, certainly knows what he is talking about having won the main event that year and various other no limit tournaments around the world.

Rikard caught up with another poker veteran, Eli Elezra. The former Israeli soldier talked about his fitness and poker alike, and as always left a very positive vibe. The 53 year old Eli has been visiting the gym on a regular basis, and it seems to have done him well both physically and mentally as he seems to be on top of his game and his life.

It’s very important to know who you are playing with because when somebody decides to push it all in, and you don’t know where he is at and you don’t know his history you are in a guessing game.

The two time bracelet winner was caught during a break at the $50 000 Players Championship and told us about his preference in tournaments that he plays. The tournament that he was playing at the moment seems to be his favorite, with the dealer’s choice a close second for the mix game specialist. Eli also tells us what he thinks his best games are and we hope to see him win many more tournaments, and play in the Bobby’s room for many years to come.
