Why the Mystery Bounty Format?

The fashionable Mystery Bounty tournament format is making waves around the poker scene, right now. A recent addition to the schedule, it is rapidly growing in popularity, partly due to the $1,000,000 won in the Mystery Millions at the 2023 WSOP.

The idea is to make tournament poker more exciting by adding this extra layer of tension. Usually, in a bounty event the bounties are fixed to whatever the price was of the knocked out player. In a Mystery Bounty tournament the bounties are just that—a mystery!

In the Mystery Bounty Tournament, bounties are awarded only on Day 2. Drawn at random from a predetermined pool of prizes. Also, keeping the bounties until later in the tournament means that the prizes are that much bigger than a traditional PKO event.

The Sunday Squeeze and The Dime have Day 1 starting flights running every two hours until a few hours before the Day 2 finale. Play as many as you wish.

Another positive for this style of poker tournament is that players don’t need to make the money to win a decent prize. On Day 2, players will be able to win a huge prize right from the off. We’re talking thousands of dollars.

Both The Sunday Squeeze and The Dime are great events that promise non-stop action.
