If you're in the market for a used poker table and would like that table to have a bit of history behind it, head on over to the shuttered Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City on Thursday where a public auction will be held to sell off a bevy of items from the casino.

In addition to poker and gaming tables, furniture, artwork, pianos and chandeliers will be put up for grabs by National Content Liquidators, the company in charge of the clear out. "Everything must go" is apparently the motto of the project, as the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will fashion the casino with its own stylings and branding ahead of a grand opening set for the middle of 2018.

The auction will commence at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6 and will continue daily until the casino is gutted, according to the Press of Atlantic City. Hard Rock took over the property from billionaire investor Carl Icahn, who snatched up the casino during bankruptcy proceedings.

Icahn couldn't agree with the casino workers union on pension benefits and health insurance, changing direction and selling the property to the Seminole Indian tribe in Florida, owners of the Hard Rock chain. Icahn still owns the Trump Plaza casino in New Jersey, which is also closed.

Real Value or Conversation Piece?

The Trump Taj Mahal opened in 1990 under the ownership of Donald Trump and was billed as the "eighth wonder of the world.” It was the top grossing casino in Atlantic City for more than a decade until neighboring states began opening their own casinos.

Speculators may be interested in some of the Trump Taj Mahal's furnishings as a possible investment, most notably, items that bear the Trump name. Any artifacts even remotely connected to a former president of the U.S. may have value someday, especially when that president is a complete clown who is totally unfit to lead the country and may not survive his four-year term.
