Unibet's New MTT Schedule Features Lower Rake and Bigger Guarantees

Unibet Poker is rolling out a revamped multi-table tournament schedule that's geared toward recreational players and includes a significant spike in guarantees as well as industry-low rake fees.

The announcement was made on the Unibet Community Forum, with the poker room emphasizing the new changes to be "more in-line with current demand and trends."

A long-time favorite site among casual players, Unibet has reinforced that status by decreasing rake in all bounty tournaments to 4.5%-4.8%. Many poker sites charge double that amount.

Along with lower rake, Unibet upped the guarantees on its daily MTT schedule. Players logging on will now find a €4k, €5k, €6k and a €10k. Previously, the biggest guarantee offered was a €4k.

"We'll adjust the guarantees in the coming months and I hope you'll help us make these grow even bigger!" stated a Unibet Poker Product Manager.

Unibet is celebrating its new MTT schedule with a €100,000 leaderboard promotion. The leaderboards will run weekly for 10 weeks and payout €10,000 each week at three different levels, as follows:

• High (€25-€100): €6000
  
• Low (€5-€10): €2500
  
• Overall: €1500 (winner takes all)
  

Additional changes to the MTT format include aiming toward having all daily majors finish up by 1:00 a.m. CET/CEST. That's a nod to rec players who have to wake up and go to work in the morning.

Also for the recs is a schedule that features more bounty events and less add-ons. Casual players are typically at a disadvantage in add-on tournaments, with the better players known to max late reg.

"Generally speaking, it just doesn't make for a nice tournament experience for the inexperienced player," said a site rep.

While the new MTT schedule at Unibet features plenty of exciting tournaments, here are a few that are likely to become player favorites:

• The Title Fight. A daily €10,000 guarantee PKO with €50 buy-in
  
• The Ironman. A daily €2,500 guarantee deepstack with €10 buy-in
  
• The Slobberknocker. A Thursday exclusive €7,500 GTD bounty event with a €100 buy-in
  
• Fight Club. A cousin of the Supernova, exclusively running on Sundays. It's got a €10,000 guarantee and €100 buy-in.
  

The target date for most of the changes to be implemented is October 24. That includes new avatars for winners of leaderboards and major tournaments!
