Urmo Velvelt Stands Tall in Tallinn!

888poker hosted it’s 2016 888Live poker festival between the 25th and 28th of August in the beautiful and picturesque Estonian town of Tallinn. The $30,000 Guaranteed Main Event attracted 80 poker players eager for the opportunity to grab the prestigious main event prize, with the event hosted by 888poker pro Kara Scott, who unfortunately busted early from the tournament herself.

Congratulations to Estonia’s own Urmo Velvelt, who won the trophy and the first prize of €9,000 after beating fellow Estonian Sergei Oganesjan after starting heads-up play almost level in chips. Velvelt was modesty itself as he claimed the prize as he said.

$60,000 Sunday Challenge

The $60,000 Sunday Challenge was anything but a challenge for Russia's 'LetheGuard' as he took down the $90 buy-in tournament with one optional re-buy and earned $10,720. 81 players cashed as 610 players sat down, only to eventually fall to LetheGuard. Here are the final table results and payouts.

Baby Whale

This week 264 players entered the $70,000 Baby Whale tournament with 36 cashing. A week after final tabling the Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event in Barcelona, 888poker pro Chris “888Moorman” Moorman, always a huge threat in any online poker tournament and already the most accomplished online poker pro in history, finished in third place, winning $8,949. The event was won by “BriIliant” who lived up to their username and in claiming the win took home the $16,196.40 first prize.
