The popular $Million Sunday Encores will continue to run on ACR according to the site’s CEO Phil Nagy, claiming:

“The online poker industry shouldn’t see winning players as bad for business, and they shouldn’t be punished for being successful”.

Nagy’s backing for the big buy-in, big prize-fund Sunday specials came as another two $Million Sunday Encores were added to the ACR schedule, the 23rd and next Sunday September 30th the dates for the diary - with top online pros and well-known streamers expected to once again be part of the massive tournaments.

According to Nagy:

“These tournaments have been a success because they provide value to a demographic in poker that other sites are not catering to”, explaining: “High stakes player have seen their VIP rewards cut dramatically across most of our competitor’s sites. The online poker industry shouldn’t see winning players as bad for business, and they shouldn’t be punished for being successful”.

Highrollers

The success of the first two MDS events was clear, with no overlay and climbing prizepools, ‘Omaha4Rollz’ taking down the first of these for $205,333 on September 9th, and the big names happily mixing the ACR high-rollers in with their recent WCOOP/POWERFEST schedules on rival sites.

The second Million Dollar Encore saw the delightfully named ‘TinkleTinkle’ more than able to spend a penny after he scooped $210,130, fending off 437 other entrants to grab the lion’s share of the $1,095,000 prizefund…  the top 3 all walking off with 6-figure scores…

“This is why we create big buy-in/smaller field tournaments and offer new products just for them such as the $50/$100 No Rathole tables,” said Nagy, obviously very happy with how things are progressing.

Nagy has also promised that the huge ‘Encores’  will become a regular on the site if players continue to show their support by planting bums on seats, and some of the best streamers are doing exactly that - Thomas Cannuli, Jeff Gross, Michael Loncar, Jeff Boski and Vanessa Kade all sharing their ACR Encore runs with fans and followers on TwitchTV…

…some offering fans a piece of the action, to make the big Sunday sweat that much more enjoyable…

…and in Jeff Gross’ case, enjoying and sharing massive paydays in the ACR Sunday events as far back as early last year…
