Las Vegas is one of the most well-known cities in the world. Known as Sin City for more than a century, all of its known vices have been available long before the mob arrived.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, the saying goes.

But what is there to do in the city these days. Why do millions of tourists visit every year? Let’s take a look at the main reasons why you should go to Las Vegas.

Gambling

What better place to start than with what the city is best known for. Las Vegas is simply a gambler’s paradise. You can get action on just about anything these days.

From all of the standard casinos games, such as roulette and blackjack, the sports books, and of course poker, there is everything to keep you from getting bored. Even slot machines if they’re your thing.

Nevada is also one of the states that offers fully legalised online gambling. If you’re on the lookout for an online casino there is plenty of choice - maybe you’re sat in your room with a hangover and unable to muster the motivation to go downstrairs

Boxing

Fight fans all know that Las Vegas is where promoters dream of running an event. It’s where all the money is.

Legends of the sports have fought in the likes of the MGM Resort for decades. Names such as Floyd Mayweather Jnr are now synonymous with the city. If you’re a fight fan to any degree you can’t beat coming to Las Vegas to watch an evening’s boxing.

Music Shows

Music fans have something to go and see every single night in SIn City. We’re talking the likes of Diana Ross, Shania Twain, and Frankie Valli. Real classic talent here.

The choice is endless when it comes to concerts. In fact, a good deal of tourists heading to Nevada specifically come for the music shows.

Excursions

Las Vegas is not just about The Strip too. Not only is the city big enough to really get around and stretch your legs, but there is also a ton of stuff nearby to go and see.

For example the Grand Canyon is close enough for a day trip. Located in Arizona state, the attraction is in a place where most tourists will not be passing by. Holiday seekers to Las Vegas are as close as most will get.

The Hoover Dam isn’t too far away either. More than 21,000 men built the 726 feet high dam that created Lake Mead.

For those who don’t want to step too far away from their creature comforts there is tons to go and see downtown. One of the best examples for a lazy afternoon is a trip to the Mob Museum, actually built inside a former courthouse.

For those not in the know, the gambling paradise of Las Vegas used to be run by the American mob. The museum shows exhibits from organised crime all over the world alongside some more general crime artifacts.

There is even an original electric chair from a long time ago, along with part of the wall from the St Valentine’s Day Massacre.

The Bellagio Fountains

For those who appreciate nice scenery there is little better to see when you open your hotel suite curtains than the Bellagio Fountains. The attention to detail for the display is typical of what the resorts on The Strip are known for.

All in all there are plenty of reasons to book that ticket for a spell away under the bright lights of Las Vegas. There are few places in the world where you can witness as much effort to take care of the customers as in this city.

So, channel your inner-degenerate and head to the airport before you convince yourself it’s a bad idea! You definitely won’t regret it, and who knows, you might hit a jackpot or two.
