America’s first online poker tournament with a $1 million prize pool since before Black Friday was hosted by the Winning Poker Network (WPN) yesterday and the tournament played to a conclusion with ‘ForTheNguen’ scoring the guaranteed $200,000 first place prize.

Most will recall that the first Winning Millions attempt in December was marred by DDoS attacks that forced a cancellation and the return of buy-ins to the entrants. Whether the bad taste from that December try kept players away yesterday is not known, but the guarantee fell short by slightly over $100k, forcing WPN to kick in the cash.

The $500 + $40 buy-in allowed for re-entries and 1,799 bought in, including runner-up finisher ‘EduardoGarla,’ who was chip leader when the final table started. He maneuvered his way as far as second place and a $111,000 prize.

Other final table finishers included ’44ontheflo’ ($13,200) in 9th, ‘Sngwonder’ ($17,500) who is now also a MTT wonder in 8th, ‘GoatBoat’ ($22,800) landing in 7th, ‘Michael Bolton’ ($31,800) sang his way to 6th place, ‘HurziPurzi888’ ($44,800) finished 5th, ‘Chizzle’ ($58,000) made it to 4th with a screen name that sounds like something Snoop Dogg would say, and ‘GoMegatron’ ($73,000) in 3rd.

The Winning Millions was the Main Event in WPN’s Online Super Series Rematch IV that concluded yesterday after 10 days of action, 63 events, and $2 million in guaranteed prizes. Look for another Winning Millions to be hosted in the near future.

Up next at WPN is a $525 buy-in “The Cage” contest on Wednesday that is a four hour cash game. WPN hosts those mid-stakes The Cage matches every Wednesday for players on network skins such as Black Chip Poker and Americas Cardroom.

Every Sunday, those same players can play in $50 WSOP qualifiers that guarantee seats to the 2015 WSOP Main Event this summer. A total of 50 ME packages valued at $12,500 each are offered through June, with satellites to the qualifiers running daily.
