This February the World Poker Tour will be returning to Canada for another edition of the Fallsview Poker Classic. For the second year in a row the CAD $5,000 event will be held in the magnificent Fallsview Casino Resort in the Niagara Falls region and this time the main event will be televised on FSN and the WPT production is promising some stunning shots of the Niagara Falls and poker action from the Main Event.

The Main Event however will not be the only opportunity for players who visit Canada in February. Starting on February 7th with a CAD $1,000 event with 2 starting days, the festival will last a week providing several events including a CAD $1,500 shootout event for players who bust the main early. The Main Event starts on February 13th and the Casino staff are hopeful that the number of enterants will exceed last year’s 400. Some of the best poker players from Canada and the rest of the world are expected to join in the action.

For those players who would like to compete in the event with a smaller investment the Casino will run a number of satellites starting on February 7th and all the way up to the event, ranging from CAD $125 to CAD $1,050 as well as a super satellite with a CAD $550 buyin on February 12th at 3 pm. For those who are less willing to travel all the way to Canada to play in the satellites the WPT will be throwing a number of online satellites at partypoker.com. On February 9th PartyPoker will be organizing a two-seat guaranteed satellite for the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic Main Event.

The venue for this WPT stop will be the Fallsview Casino and Resort, one of Canada’s most prestigious Casino establishments with 10 years of experience of hosting luxurious events and showing their customers a great time. Speaking of the new incarnation of this event, the WPT President Adam Pliska said:

The World Poker Tour’s return to Ontario, Canada in Season XII was a great success, and we are proud to once again revisit the majestic Niagara Falls region for the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic. This CAD $5,000 buy-in event attracts some of the best poker players in the world, but live qualifiers for the tournament have been running for months, signifying that there will be a strong Canadian contingent as well.

The tournament will not be open to persons under the age of 19 as such persons are not allowed on casino property.

The President of the Fallsview Casino and Resort, Art Frank, stressed out how proud the Casino is to host such an important international poker event.

The appeal and success of our WPT event each year is a testament to Fallsview Casino’s ability to provide a better playing experience for more players, and we’re expecting another huge turnout that will guarantee thrilling and competitive gaming action.
