ESPN’s coverage of the 2015 World Series of Poker kicked off last night in the Monday night slot which sees them pitted against the huge ratings of Monday Night Football.

With Norman Chad and Lon ‘the Voice of Poker’ McEachern once again fronting the hour-long specials, the WSOP programme will run initially for 3 weeks on ESPN2 and the WatchESPN app, before switching to the flagship ESPN channel on October 4th. Two 150-minute long episodes will herald in the count-down to the much-anticipated November Nine final table.

Viewers of the ESPN coverage will be able to follow the fortunes of the world’s leading players back in July as they vied for a spot at the coveted final table, interspersed with action from the amateurs who descended on the Rio casino in Las Vegas in the hope of making their fortunes at the richest poker event in the calendar.

The November Nine final table - which will see chip leader Joseph McKeehen trying to fend off a strong challenge from the likes of 72-year old Pierre Neuvilleamong others – will be broadcast ‘live’ (a 30-minute delay is used to comply with gaming laws) over 3 nights from the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Day one will see the final nine cut down to just five contenders, day two will further reduce the players to two, and the final broadcast will televise the heads-up showdown to determine who will lift the coveted Main Event bracelet and $8,000,000.
