Alex Lindop has collected his first WSOP gold bracelet after taking down a $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event.

Alex from Stoke-on-Trent, UK has been playing poker full time since he was 17 years old. When he was 18, Alex began playing online poker and he has concentrated on cash games, with PLO being his game of choice. Alex has numerous cashes at European Poker Tour events and tournaments played in the UK.

This particular WSOP event $1,500 attracted a massive field of 2,155 players, generating the prize pool of $2,909,250, with top 216 finishers pocketing the money.

When heads-up duel began Alex Lindop was in the lead, holding a 3-1 chip advantage versus Aurelien Guiglini from France. 33-year-old product manager from Paris was defeated by British poker pro, after Alex’s 4-3 bested his Q-5. With that hand, Alex Lindop has become the second British gold bracelet winner at this year’s series and collected $531,037, lion's share of nearly $3m prize pool.

Aurelien Guiglini, who learned how to play poker online, will have to settle for second place and a prize of $330,578.

With this victory Alex now has four cashes at the series that include 39th place in $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Six Handed event in 2011, 110th place in $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event in 2013 and 69th place in $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em Mixed-Max event in 2013. However, this was the biggest cash in his poker career by far bringing his total live tournament earnings to $653,747.

Among players who made the final table the most notable was 45-year-old investor and 2006 WSOP Main Even Champion, Jamie Gold. As a ME champion, Jamie collected a massive first place prize of $12,000,000 back in 2006.

In this tournament, Gold made it to the fifth place which paid $120,952 and this was his sixth WSOP cash.

Yorane Kerignard who has won WPT title back in 2012, has finished in third place which paid $229,787. This was the sixth time that Yorane cashed at the Series.

Haixia Zhang got eliminated in fourth place and collected the prize of $165,492. Zhang, business owner from Los Gatos, CA, has won last year’s Ladies Championship after she outlasted the field of 793 players. She also continued great performance of the ladies at this year's WSOP.

List of the gold bracelet winners who cashed in the tournament but missed the final table includes Igor Dubinsky, Jeff Madsen, Andy Frankenberger, Dutch Boyd, Brandon Wong, Jordan Smith and Ari Engel.
