The Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) has quietly moved up the ranks among the most popular online poker rooms and networks, squeezing its way into the top ten in ring game player traffic.

As of this writing, MPN finds itself with a seven-day player average of 800 cash game players, according to traffic tracking website PokerScout.com. That total nudged PokerStars.fr down to 11th place worldwide, as Amaya's France-facing poker site remained stable with a 750-player average.

Also bounced from top ten status by MPN was Adjarabet, who had pulled into a 10th place tie with PokerStars.fr by the end of October. Adjarabet's ring game player average fell to 700 over the past three weeks.

MPN Sites

Microgaming is anchored by skins such as Betsson, StanJames and BetVictor, and also includes a number of smaller sites like Cool Hand Poker and PokerTime. There are almost three dozen poker rooms on the network, so online poker players throughout the world have a wide selection to choose from if they are seeking a new poker home.

Some players may be doing exactly that following PokerStars' announcement on November 1 that detailed some radical changes to the site's player loyalty program. Those changes that become effective on January 1, 2016 are not at all kind to high stakes and high volume players, which may be part of the reason for MPN's newfound popularity.

Cash game traffic at PokerStars has fallen by 500 players since the first of the month, indicating that some players may already be leaving even before the new parameters of the VIP program take hold.
