Pennsylvania-born poker pro Alexander Queen has been in the business of professional gambling for over 10 years now. Before Black Friday hit, he was a high-volume MTT player putting the majority of his time in at FullTilt (as ‘ArgentinaBoy’) and at PokerStars (as ‘BoyArgentina’). Sadly for him, the outlawing of online poker in the U. S. came at a time when his career really began to pick up momentum. In the two years prior to Black Friday, Queen was ranked in the top 0.1% of tournament earners according to Official Poker Rankings and made more than $1.5 million between 2009 and 2010.

Since 2011, Alexander has made the best of a bad situation by grinding both live cash games and live tournaments. Fortunately, the American had already garnered some experience in the live game and was more than capable at succeeding in it – just look at his $355,535 score he earned for winning the $3,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event at Borgata back in 2010.

His first year as a live pro saw Queen ship four poker tournaments that year and also make a WSOP final table at the $1,500 NLH event – picking up two six-figure cashes along the way. A regular player at Borgata in Atlantic City, Alexander shipped yet another tournament there the following year in 2012 when he won the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event for $100,049.

Now with more than $1,700,000 in live tournament earnings and likely another chunk made from cash games, Alexander certainly managed to play the bad hand that Black Friday dealt him like a true pro.
