As can be the nature of tournament poker, Moscow-born Andrey Pateychuk had a very rapid rise in the game. He began playing small online MTTs back in 2009, and just two years later he was an EPT Main Event champion. Winning the 2011 €4,600 San Remo event for a staggering $937,530, the huge score was a timely 22nd birthday present for the Russian who celebrated it just a day prior.

His 2011 was his most successful year in live poker by a considerable distance. On top of the near seven-figure score from the EPT win, Andrey had an extremely deep run in the WSOP Main Event where he finished fifteenth for $478,174. Before the year closed out, Pateychuk got his hands on another title – the €3,500 WPT Prague No Limit Hold’em Main Event where he claimed $599,720 for his accomplishment. In an extremely solid field that featured the likes of WSOP notable Benjamin Pollak and German talent Tobias Reinkemeier, Andrey outlasted a field of more than 500 competitors to win the title. These three huge scores along with a number of smaller ones for 2011 saw his annual live tournament earnings exceed $2,000,000.

Since then, Andrey has caught two other six-figure scores along with a wealth of cashes in international events. In 2015, he earned himself a second EPT title by winning the €2,000 No Limit Hold’em Turbo 6-Handed event in Prague. His WSOP successes have continued, with Pateychuk putting together more than 27 series cashes since his first WSOP cash in 2011.

Complimenting his $3,400,000+ earnings in live tournaments, Andrey’s online MTT résumé is similarly impressive. With more than $3,000,000 in cashes from the online world, he has over 100 first-place finishes with the biggest of these coming in a 2010 MiniFTOPS event for $146,920. Playing under the screenname ‘ThePateychuk’ on PokerStars, Andrey more recently final-tabled the Sunday Million in 2015 and came runner-up in the $1,050 Sunday Grand the following year.
