Behind only Gus Hansen and Peter Eastgate, Frederik Jensen is arguably one of the most successful poker players to ever hail from Denmark.

Behind only Gus Hansen and Peter Eastgate, Frederik Jensen is arguably one of the most successful poker players to ever hail from Denmark. The Copenhagen-born tournament specialist has a decorated résumé both online and live, with combined earnings of more than $8,500,000 since 2006.

In terms of prestige, Jensen is probably best known for taking down the EPT Madrid €5,000 Main Event in 2012. The final table line-up included Canadian prodigy Mike McDonald, but even he was not able to stop The Dane from scooping the $649,368 that was awarded to the winner. A country that clearly has been good to him, Frederik had another deep run in the same event – this time in Barcelona – three years later where he finished third. Funnily enough, he actually earned more on this outing ($922,371) than he did in Madrid due to the larger size of the field. When the EPT finished after 13 seasons in 2016, Jensen had solidified himself as a memorable part of it as a result of making more than fifteen final tables and accumulating well over $2,000,000 from the events.

Interestingly, Jensen’s biggest live poker success actually came outside of his home continent. In 2010, his runner-up finish at the Aussie Millions Main Event in Melbourne earned him a seven-figure payday ($1,015,257) after he finished ahead of experienced pros such as Sorel Mizzi and fellow Scandinavian Annette Obrestad.

An equally tough competitor in the online world, Frederik is best known for his numerous MTT wins as ‘Fred_Brink’ on PokerStars. His most memorable to date came in 2008 when he won the Sunday Million for $204,199 – almost 950x the initial $215 buy-in. With the event attracting as many runners as a WSOP Main Event, Jensen’s achievement is certainly one that is worth remembering. He is also a WCOOP winner and has finished runner-up in no less than three SCOOP/TCOOP events.
