Parisian poker pro Guillaume Darcourt has been on the live tournament circuit for over a decade. He is best known for his string of successes in WPT events, winning three major titles in five years. The first and largest of these was in 2010, when The Boa won the €3,000 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event at WPT Bucharest for $193,387.
Three years on, Guillaume picked up his second WPT on home soil in Cannes – this time in the 2013 €1,500 No Limit Hold’em Main Event. Catching another six-figure score for his triumph, the line-up included a number of tough French veterans including recent WSOP Main Event notable Benjamin Pollak. One year later, Darcourt won his third WPT event at the same stop in Cannes – this time in the €2,000 High Roller event.
Surprisingly, his biggest live tournament cashes actually fell outside of these achievements. His largest score to date was awarded after Guillaume made a deep run in the 2011 WSOP Main Event, finishing in 35th for $242,636. Although he wasn’t able to be a part of the November Nine, he managed to outlast over 6,800 other players to finish in the top 1% of the field.
Formerly sponsored by French poker site PMU, the Paris-born pro has more than $400,000 in online tournament earnings to go along with his $1,400,000+ in live cashes. He is still a regular on the live circuit and recently was the subject of a documentary titled ‘BOA’ (you can view it in full here).
