Jeremy Ausmus

Jeremy doesn’t fit the bill of your typical poker player. The well-groomed American is happily married and a proud father of two children – Calia and Kai. With more than $5,000,000 in live tournament earnings to his name, the Las Vegas resident is proof that you don’t need to sacrifice everything to make it in poker. Speaking on her husband’s career path, Adria reinforced, ‘The flexibility is amazing. He can take off for a couple of months or we can vacation in the middle of the week if we want. He loves his job . . . he is always excited and willing to work’.

Despite his commitments as a husband and father, Jeremy has been able to achieve some phenomenal success in poker. He quickly moved to Vegas to pursue the game full-time after graduating from Colorado State in 2005, with his then-girlfriend moving out with him a couple years later. Three years after his marriage, Jeremy enjoyed the run of a lifetime when he made the final nine of the 2012 WSOP Main Event. Although it was Greg Merson that went on to scoop the most prestigious accolade in poker, Ausmus did bag himself $2,155,313 for his fifth-place finish.

Amazingly, Jeremy didn’t even take the year off after this big score. Hungry for a title, the American earned himself one just a couple of months later when he took down a WPT event in his hometown.

One year later, Ausmus did get a second shot at the WSOP gold (albeit not in the Main Event). In fact, it was at a WSOPE tournament – a €1,500 Pot Limit Omaha one that took place in France – where the American got another chance at claiming a bracelet. Jeremy managed to get the job done after outlasting a tough final table that included poker legend Jason Mercier and Finnish veteran Juha Helppi.
