Northboro native and now Southern California resident Jesse Martin is a tournament specialist with over a decade of experience in the game. He particularly excels at mixed-game events, specifically 2-7 variants; this is proven by his WSOP record, for Jesse is a two-time bracelet winner in this game type. He picked up his first in 2013 after taking down the $10,000 2-7 Lowball event for more than a quarter of a million dollars. Most recently, he earned his second WSOP win by shipping the $2,500 Limit Mixed Triple Draw Lowball event – this time for $130,948. Among the field were Australian mixed-game talent James Obst and poker legend Barry Greenstein – neither of which could stop Martin from seizing the gold.

He has made WSOP final tables on six other occasions – the most significant of which in monetary terms was when he finished third in the 2014 $50,000 Poker Players Championship for $594,570. It is no surprise that this high buy-in event drew in the best players around, and Martin’s third-place finish demonstrated his ability to compete at the top of the poker world.

Although Jesse’s live poker career has taken place predominantly on North American soil, his successes have not been narrowed to WSOP events. Back in 2007, the American won the WPT $2,500 No Limit Hold’em event at the Fifth Annual Five Star World Poker Classic, adding $289,740 to his list of tournament scores along with a WPT trophy.

Long before all of his WSOP successes, Jesse was a force to be reckoned with in the online world. Known as ‘MazeOrBowie’ on PokerStars – his username references the rock group Phish – Jesse picked up his biggest online MTT score when he finished fourth in the 2009 WCOOP Main Event for $400,000+. This win him put him in the top 0.3% of earners for online tournament players that year.

His combined tournament earnings for live and online now exceed $3,500,000.
