Born in Brussels in 1985, Belgium’s Koen De Visscher found poker in 2006 and quickly fell in love with the game. Establishing himself as a tournament specialist, Koen grew his bankroll by playing online – predominantly on PokerStars under the screenname ‘JeankeNissan’. Although the majority of his results are concealed, he gained media attention in 2011 for winning a SCOOP event – the $1,050 NLHE Turbo tournament. In a field that attracted many of the biggest names in online poker including Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom and Lex ‘RaSZi’ Veldhuis, the Belgian won $92,417 for his first-place finish – along with a SCOOP watch.

A sponsored ambassador for the online cardroom 770Poker, Koen has also played at a number of the biggest live events on the European circuit. He famously bubbled his first major EPT outing, earning the ‘bubble boy’ title at the Barcelona stop during the seventh season of the tour. However, he didn’t let this moment dishearten him – Koen went on to reach the final table of the EPT Main Event in Hinterglemm, Austria just a few months later. Although he couldn’t get the job done, he did take home $208,401 for his efforts in his largest live tournament score to date.
